Sinodalità e democrazia: punti di contatto e differenze
Abstract
The attempt to relate democracy and synodality must take into consideration the diversity and contrasts of two approaches: one ecclesiological and the other philosophical-political; that is, two conceptually different points of view that draw from different sources. There remains, as their common denominator, an interest in representation and consensus. However, it is necessary to clarify how the two views relate to these concepts. The article examines the position of the Church toward democracy and goes on to reflect on the concepts of representation and consensus in democracy, then verifying their relationship to synodality.
