L'Eucharistie selon Balthasar. Une relecture à partir de l'amour de don

L’article propose une brève présentation de la théologie balthasarienne de l’Eucharistie dans la Trilogie. L’occasion en est l’aporie suivante : le théologien suisse affirme que l’Eucharistie est centrale, alors que sa théologie sacramentelle est plutôt clairsemée. Pour répondre à cette difficulté, l’article montre que Balthasar éclaire sa théologie de l’Eucharistie à partir de trois notions : la kénose (première partie), la surabondance (deuxième partie) et l’enveloppement (troisième partie). Or, ceux-ci convergent vers un centre secret : l’amour de don. Balthasar interprète donc l’Eucharistie en clé amative, ce qui permet de lever l’aporie initiale (quatrième partie).

The article proposes a short presentation of balthasarian theology of the Eucharist in the Trilogy. The opportunity is the following aporia : the swiss theologian asserts that the Eucharist is central, while its sacramental theology is rather thinned out. To answer this difficulty, the article shows that Balthasar enlightens his Eucharist’s theology from three notions : the kenosis (first part), the profusion (second part) and the envelope (third part). These converge on a secret center : love of gift. Balthasar thus interprets the Eucharist in amative key, what allows to raise the initial aporia (the fourth part).
