La Iglesia, misterio de comunión familiar (y III)

En el trabajo se distinguen dos partes. En la primera se concluye el estudio de fuentes iniciado en dos artículos precedentes y en la segunda, se intenta responder a las cuestiones que motivaron el trabajo: a la luz de la fe, ¿podemos decir que la Iglesia es familia? ¿en qué sentido lo es? ¿qué luces aporta la imagen a la inteligencia teológica de la Iglesia y en qué línea se pone su significación propia y específica?

En primer lugar, el estudio de fuentes permite concluir que “familia” constituye uno de los nombres de la Iglesia con abolengo en su tradición secular. En la Tradición, sin embargo, la imagen familiar se presenta no con un sentido plenamente metafórico sino analógico pero real. En efecto, “familia” es expresión análoga del misterio de la Iglesia, de su contenido comunional y de la forma sacramental de su realización terrena.

This work has two parts. In the first part, we conclude the study of our sources which we started in two earlier articles. In the second part, we try to respond to the questions which were the reason for this investigation. In the light of the faith, can we call the Church a family? In what way? What perspectives does this image open up for the theological understanding of the Church and what is it’s proper, specific meaning?

In the first place, the study of our sources permits us conclude that “family” is one of the names for the Church which we have inherited from ancient times. However, in Tradition the image of the family appears not only with metaphorical usage, but also in a real and analogical way. Indeed, the term “family” is an analogous expression of the mistery of the Church as comunion and of sacramental form in which it is carried out in the earth.
